Car Keys....
So... although I am not exactly sure I want to remember this, I thought I better document this for sanity sake. About 99% of the time, I don't think motherhood is too rough. In fact, I am blessed with great kids, crazy helpful parents and in-laws, and a pretty spectacular husband. But then there are the days that you just want to pull your hair out. Those days make the best stories... after I have had a few days to laugh about it.
Here's the story.... I had just gotten all 3 kids up, fed, dressed, and out the door, ready for the school day. (Gus too... although I didn't have to get him dressed) I piled them all into the van... seat belts on, car seats buckled, bags loaded up. I went to get in the drivers seat... No car key. Jumped out and told the kids I had to run back inside quick.
Checked the counter...no key.
Checked the entry way... no key.
Tried my coat pockets... no key.
Now I started to panic a bit. If I didn't hurry the kids would be late for school! I frantically called Val who sent Ken over (he just happened to have off of work.) I unpacked all the kids and our bags and waited in the driveway for him. He picked us all up and delivered all the kids to school on time. I called a colleague and she picked me up and we drove to school together. I texted Kyle hoping he somehow had the key... No luck. All day long I wondered where it could be... I feared either Grace hid it or Gus had it somewhere in the backyard. Then as my friend gave me ride home that night, Kyle arrived home before me and sent me this....
Um... oops...there is the key. On the counter. Under the Elmo book. Gulp.
Yes, my counter is messy. Yes, that is why I couldn't find it. Double gulp.
Lesson learned. Keep your keys in a safe, secure place. And clean your counters.
Ryan's Field Trip To The Appleton Children's Museum
I had a great time going with Ryan on his kindergarten field trip to the children's museum. It was fun to get to spend the day being a mom! Although Ryan's best buddy, Ty, couldn't be in our group because his mom also came along, they still managed to get to hang out ! :-)

Have You Met #hurricanegrace?
In true Hurricane Grace fashion, she accidentally stepped on Kyle's birthday cake. I had bought it at the grocery store and put it in the middle section of the van for safekeeping. I put Grace in her seat and went to the back to load the rest of the groceries. When I came back around to buckle her in, she was out of her seat and standing on the plastic cover! I tried to save it as best as I could. Luckily it still tasted amazing! It seems very fitting for the season of our life right now that Kyle's 36 birthday cake with stepped on! :-)
Fun at the Timber Rattlers Game!
We had a great time at the Timber Rattlers game on Sunday. It was an early birthday celebration for Kyle. Ryan won a free ticket through his schools reading program. What a beautiful April day to get out and enjoy the game!

Little Helpers!
Helping mom (i.e. playing) in her classroom on the weekends... cool. Getting to drink a root beer in the teachers lounge... epic! #teacherkidperks

Kisses For Daddy!
We are so proud of you! Last night he got the call to say he got the job! He's moving from the Beaver Dam Middle School to the Beaver Dam High School this fall. He now will be teaching economics. It's a change he was hoping for! And we're proud of him!

Gus Retrieving--5 months old
This is what Gus would want to do 24/7 if we let him. It's a favorite and he is actually getting pretty good at it! We have added the "sit" command now before we hit the ball. Hopefully we can carry that over to when we are not playing ball too!
