Another Wonderful Vacation With Grandma and Grandpa Sheridan (and Joe) - - The Apostle Islands

 

This years Sheridan vacation was to The Apostle Islands.  The weather was great and I really lucked out when booking the hotels!  The first night we stayed at a new hotel/casino right on Lake Superior and the next two nights we were in a condo over looking the harbor.  The kids loved watching all of the boats coming in and out.  Only issue was while trying to make a late night pizza, we almost started the stove on fire.  At least it is a fun memory to tell next year....

Ava and Ryan had to complete a pamphlet  and go to the ranger station and take an oath! It's all very official! :-) 

Lake Superior is Cold!

But we still had fun!

The kids learned how to skip rocks and got busy building sand castles.  Ava braved the cold water and made it knee deep.  

Fun with Uncle Joe!

Uncle Joe loves to wrestle with the kids and Gracie and Ryan thought they could take him out with a pillow fight.  Not quite.  But they both LOVED getting smushed with the pillow.  

Ava and Uncle Joe braved the break water and went out to the platform.  

A Hiking We Will Go...

We went for a great hike with beautiful views of Lake Superior.  The kids had a great time and we even got to see two waterfalls!

Apostle Islands--Sea Caves #billesummerbucketlist

Wow.  So beautiful!  But it order to get there, we needed to take a 3+ hour boat ride.  The boat ride was super fun.... except have you ever tried keeping an active 2 year old on a boat for 3+ hours!  Quite the adventure.  But we survived.  Barely.  But the scenery thou!

Breakfast On The Farm! #summerbucketlist

Breakfast on the Farm was at the Greenfield Farm this year.  Kyle used to work there in high school, so it was fun for him to check it out.  We had a great breakfast and Grandma and Grandpa (and Ava and Ryan) got special treatment and got a lift from the parking lot to the food tent from a cute little 12 year old!
