Walmart Worker vs. Teacher

Today was "Dress Like What You Want To Be When You Grow Up" at MVP (Ava's School)  Her fisrt choice was a "Walmart Worker".  Unfortunatley this morning as we were trying to throw together her “Walmart Worker” outfit, we realized we couldn’t find  Ryan's navy polo shirt and the only kakis we could find were capris!!!  So, she had to settle for her second choice….a teacher!  (I think she will be a natural someday!)  HA!!!

Here is the picture her teacher sent me, along with this caption......

"She will be a great teacher someday if the Walmart thing doesn’t work out for her"

A Great Kindergarten Report Card!

Ava had another great Kindergarten report card this week.  As a reward for the great scores AND COMMENTS, she got her coveted Personal Ice Cream Maker.  We tested it out tonight... lets just say that we might need a little more practice to perfect the perfect scoop!  (We forgot to add the sugar AND it was a little soupy!)  But you should have SEEN the HUGE smile on her face as she was "Shakin" the container!

A Future Teacher?

We love it when mom takes us along to school with her on the weekends! There are so many things to play with! But Ava's favorite is to "play school" just like I did when I was a kid! Her "new student" Ryan even came over for the reading lesson!

Mom had a great idea to try a new technique off of Pinterest involving Shaving Cream.  But that was an epic fail.  So we washed them off and went with the old traditional way!  They turned out beautiful!

Spring Fling!

Yes, there may be snow on the ground, but the temps are finally above 40 and we want to play!!!  Plus...it's almost April!!!

Ryan's First Trip to the Dentist!

Ryan was SO excited for his first check up at the dentist!

  He was a trooper and LOVED every minute! 

 He did GREAT!

 And Ava had a great check-up too!  Dr. Homan said her teeth were "beautiful"!!!

Spring Break 2013-CHICAGO!

We had a great trip to Chicago!  So many fun adventures and memories! First Stop... Lincoln Park Zoo!!!

Next Up... Navy Pier!

 Our Hotel!  Our room was on the 14th floor!!!

 An unexpected trip to see THE CROODS!  We loved it!!!

 We had to park at Solider Field to go to the Shedd Aquarium.  Dad told Ava to pose for this photo beacuse "This is where the Bear's lose!!!" :)

The Shedd!  Super cool Jellies exhibit and we also saw dolphins, belugas, sharks and a 4D movie that had our seats vibrating, and water spraying at us!!!

Ryan gets roped into all kinds of things.  Ava is the ring leader and Ryan is pretty much game for anything!  Especially if there is food involved!
