APPLE PICKING-A Great Fall Morning!

Ava's School Dance

Ava's school held a "Back to School Dance" last night. Of course she wanted to go and since we were so happy to hear that she got a 100% on her first ever spelling test, we decided to first hit up Culver's for dinner and then pop over to the dance. She had a BLAST dancing with all of her friends (and being the great big sister that she is... she also included Ryan in on the fun-which mom was GRATEFUL for because before she invited him to dance with her, Ryan was dancing with mom which was making mom entirely too dizzy!!!)

Nesting?

I think I may be nesting... I guess it is about time. Baby Bille #3 will be here in 3 weeks! Yikes! Yesterday I woke up and made 19 freezer meals, did 2 loads of laundry and picked up the house all before 8am! Later we all worked on bringing down baby furniture from the garage storage and then cleaned it all before setting the nursery! We can now say the baby will have a place to sleep (after the 3+ months or so in the bassinet!) Today turned out to be a RAINY day and Kyle has left for an all day golf outing (rain or shine) so it looks like the kids and I will watch the Packers and nest some more. First on the agenda... my first attempt at canning! I just tried canning a big batch of salsa thanks to the MANY tomatoes from my garden. While the jars were processing, Ava and I decided to make cheesecake for dad to enjoy when he gets home. And pick up the house... AGAIN!

Our Summer Bucket List-COMPLETE!

Well almost complete... I think only 2 or 3 things didn't get done. (and one of those (apple picking) Ava put on the list before I explained it was actually more of a fall activity!) So I would say it was a VERY successful summer. When you have 2 parents who are blessed to have their summers off, you learn to make the most of each day. Ava would wake up every morning and say "What are we going to do today?" and almost every day I had a fun adventure planned. (Most didn't cost very much or were free!) We had so much fun and made such wonderful memories! What a great summer!
