Happy 74th Birthday, Grandpa Sheridan!

The restaurant came out with a cake and sang to Grandpa.  He didn't exactly love that!  But the cake was very good!
Ryan has been saving up his Scoopie coupons for awhile now and finally cashed them in for 2 basketballs. One for Grandpa Sheridan for his birthday gift and one for our family to share.  How sweet is that!  (When we were visiting Grandpa Sheridan last week Ryan wanted to play basketball but noticed Grandpa didn't have a ball.  Problem solved!) What else would you get for your Grandpa?

Chicago to see Mary! #billesummerbucketlist

We have been trying to get down to visit Mary (and family) for the past 6 months.  Both times we had a date set (once over Christmas Break and once over Spring Break) Grace came down with a fever.  (Totally random as our kids are actually usually very healthy.)  Well good news, we finally made the trip and Grace didn't get a fever until the day we left.(HOW IRONIC IS THAT??) We had a great time at Navy Pier, Chicago Children's Museum, Michigan Ave and a super fun candy store, meeting Amelia, Deep Dish Pizza, and Taste of Chicago.  Wow... and thanks to Mary, Alexander and Amelia, we were able to visit Chicago for under $180.  Great family getaway!
All set to head to Grandpas and Grandmas to drop off Gus!
Deep dish pizza!  YUM!
Taste of Chicago....Ryan's pick... pickle on a stick!
Taste of Chicago... Ava's pick... BACON on a stick!  She said it was AMAZING!
Dinner with a view.  Do you know how much joy this brings to children? We loved watching the cars/trucks drive under us on the bridge.  And getting to eat french fries?  In heaven. Who ever invented the idea of this oasis, is one smart cookie?  It really is the little things in life!

Green Lake! #billesummerbucketlist

Another trip to the Green Lake Beach!  One of our favorite day trips! Grandma Val and Andrea made the trip with us!  And showed us a HUGE hill to drive down (like a roller coaster) on the way home.  That may have been the highlight for Ryan.  (He asked if we could drive down the hill again someday!)

Ryan loves to play catch!

I pulled out my old glove to play catch with Ryan.  This really is "old school".(I have had it since 3rd grade.)  It really is the best glove ever. One time, I lost it at a Brewer Game and someone called and got it back to us. (Good thing my 9 year old self was smart enough to write my number in it!)  It has also been chewed up by one of our dogs growing up and tied by me when the laces were falling out. Kyle thinks it needs to be replaced, but I think it is still as good as new!

Happy 3rd Of July!

We spent a great couple of days celebrating the 4th of July!  Our neighbors let us use their trampoline, sparklers at our house, fun at Celebrate Waupun and our new favorite... playing catch!  Doesn't get much more American than that!  We loaded everyone up in the back of  Kyle's truck and went to the old McCune park parking lot to watch the fireworks.   Perfect night, perfect weather and an amazing show.  It was so nice to be enjoying it with all the kids!  Grace thought she was going to be too scared, but did great.  Ryan even fell asleep despite the loud booms!  I think this might be a sign of trouble when he becomes a teenager!

Finding Dory #billesummerbucketlist

Sorry, Aunt Andrea.... We couldn't wait any longer... Good News-we found her!

Grace Cuddling with Gus

Gus is getting much more tolerant of us.  I am now able to wipe his paws/body when he gets all wet from the dew in the morning and Grace decided that if Gus was going to take her spot on the couch, that she would have to find a way to cuddle with him.  He sure is soft!

We Love Our Library!

Noah's Ark!

When we went to the Brewer's game at the beginning of the month, they gave us all free tickets to Noah's Ark that had to be used by the end of the month.  So of course we waited to the last day (hey, we have had a busy summer already) and took the two bigs for their first time.  Of course our strategy was to go on the big family tube rides first before long lines formed.  This may have backfired however as on our first ride, the Kowabunga the tube turned and ended up sending Ryan down backwards.  Not seeing that those drops were coming was terrifying to him (not to mention the cold water) and it didn't end so well.  After that, Ryan and I stuck to the more tame rides and sent Kyle and Ava down a few more of the major/big rides.  Ryan did rally and ended up really enjoying it, but note to self... next time, start with a little smoother ride!

Ava Donated 10+inches of hair to Wigs 4 Kids!

Ava had wanted to get her hair cut and when she showed me how much, I said... I bet that is enough to donate.  Sure enough, it was.  It turns out it is a win/win! I don't have to bug her about brushing her hair (this happens every morning) and she is proud of herself for helping others.
