We are "Bell Ringers!"

This year we got the opportunity to be bell ringers for the Salvation Army.  Our church was looking for volunteers and I was looking for a way to teach the kids about the true meaning of Christmas.  We decided to buy candy canes to hand out to people who donated... and even those who didn't! Turns out that a couple of cute kids handing out candy canes and singing Christmas carols bring a lot of joy to people! Everyone left with a smile! (and some even sang with us!) We had fun and think we made a lot of money for the Salvation Army. We look forward to doing it again next year!  (FULL DISCLOSURE....  Ryan was asking "are we almost done" 10 minutes into our 2 HOUR shift!  But it turns out it got pretty busy shortly after that and then the time went pretty fast!) :)

She is hard to recognize with her ponytail!

Snow Patrol~Ready for Action!

We  have a big snowstorm expected to arrive late tonight and into tomorrow morning.  Good thing we have these helpers ready for action... (and our new snow blower!)  Looking forward to being snowed in tomorrow!  (I have the kitchen stocked with baking supplies!)

My Gracie Girl....

Orginally attempted to post on Thursday, I was having trouble with blogger the last few days...

Although I am on maternity leave for another 2 weeks, today is one of my last days to cuddle with this sweetie alone (before everyone is off of school).  So although I have so much to do to get ready for Christmas, I am going to let her nap on me and enjoy my day cuddling with my Gracie girl!

Dells Vacation 2013

Thanks again Grandma and Grandpa Bille!
What a great Christmas present!

The weekend started with Ava losing her 3rd tooth!  This was one of the front and center teeth and we were so excited that the Tooth Fairy was able to find us all the way in Wisconsin Dells!  We had fun swimming, eating at the Moose Jaw and Buffalo Phils and shopping.  But according to Ava, her favorite part was "spending time with our family!"  So true!

Our New Christmas Present!

We are hoping our new purchase lasts us at least 20 years!
Now... bring on the snow so we can test it out!

Perfect Day for Baking!

I just realized that Ryan's Brewer Apron has a big Miller Lite logo on it.
That might not be the best thing for a 4 year old to wear.
  Oh well... :)

Ava's Dance Recital

Ava had her dance recital on Friday night did a fantastic job!  Although I didn't get a great shot of her during the actual recital, I am hoping to get a video up soon of the performance.  She had fun, but was most proud of the fact that she got to wear make-up!

St. Nick Came to Our House!

And he brought Fluffie the Elf. (Notice him hanging on Grace's Stocking Hook)  Mom and Dad got candy.  Grace got a new onesie (St. Nick must have known that she can't have chocolate!) Ava and Ryan got new toothbrushes, new pajamas, bubble bath and snow globes.  They were more excited about these things then the candy!  If you know the story of Ryan smelling like "a man" because his bubble bath ran out and Kyle used his own body wash on him, then you will understand why Ryan was so excited to see the bubble bath and announce that he can now smell like "a kid" again!

All set for St. Nick!

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
Tonight St. Nicholas comes and if you haven't heard the story about our stockings... it's a good one!  As soon as Grace was named (ok, well maybe not immediately but we were still in the hospital) I went to kohls.com and wanted to order Grace's stocking.  Well it turns out that Kohl's does NOT make a G stocking!  (As well as a few other unpopular letters I guess)  What an outrage!  So... I found a stocking without an initial and then put on a silver G pin that I found.  (It's a little hard to see in the picture)  Now I just need to find a very crafty seamstress who can help me add a red G to Grace's stocking so we are all set for next year.  And besides.. I am sure St. Nicholas won't mind this year....
