Coronavirus Quarantine Week 6

This week the kids put in some sweat equity by helping split/stack wood. Their pay off... The awesome tire swing at the farm and getting to ride in the bed of the truck out to the wood pile.  Simple pleasures.  Ryan finally got to present his Hank Aaron wax museum project via video (which he was supposed to present the day that schools closed.)  We also spent the day in the woods to celebrate the 50th Earth Day on Wednesday and went to Madison for a mini outing (while staying inside the car the whole time) to see the Flight of Lights at the airport.  Trying to find the joy even when the days are hard.

The 50th Anniversary of Earth Day

We celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day with a hike in the woods.

Coronavirus Quarantine Week 5

I feel like my days are spent doing 2 things... making food for my family and then cleaning up the dishes of said food.  Seriously, these people are always hungry!  They ask already at breakfast what we are having for lunch.... Ugh, so many dishes!  In between the making of food/cleaning up of food and of course online school/online teaching we went on a few hikes, made an awesome blanket fort, lots of Just Dance YouTube Competitions, played family Freeze Tag, prepped for Kyle's birthday parade and made Kyle's favorite dessert, Butterfinger Torte, for his Birthday dinner.  (Do these people really need to eat everyday!?!!?)

Kyle's 40th Birthday...In Quarantine!

A few months ago, I started "planning" Kyle's 40th Birthday party.  I wanted to go all out and celebrate in a big way.  He wanted to "keep it simple."  We are currently in a worldwide pandemic and quarantined to our house.  I guess he wins on this one....😏 But the kids and I had a few surprises up our sleeves and..... there is always next year.  (Watch out Kyle... The party for 41 will be HUGE!)
